The objective was to create a “photo booth”, where the guests at a friends wedding could step in, and create self-portraits of themselves, more for fun, than anything else.

Pre-Production:

Arriving before the wedding and setting up, as showin in the photo, was fairly easy.

Assignment:

As guests arrived, they didn’t quite know what to make of it, but with the TV showing them how they looked, it became an instant hit, with a ton of people seeing how they could top the others, my wife and I even got into the act.

Post-Production:

We delivered a CD of high rez images, and a book with some of the more fun photos to the bride and groom.

Final Analysis:

The couple still talks about how much fun it was, as do the guests I run into from time to time.

OK, I'm lost, how'd you set this up for self portrait and keep focus? Or did you have someone operating the camera? Was there some sort of live view or only after the camera was fired, to show on the screen? I apologize for my ignorance!

i'd guess a wide angle paired with a small aperture and a remote for the cam would do the trick.
