Don’t Get Shot!

Monday, October 08, 2007 Concept/Objective:

Assignment Construct The objective was to illustrate the safety and benefits of getting s little spray in one’s nostril as opposed to being jammed in the arm with a needle. Our young subjects were to be happy as they received their vaccine.

Pre-Production:

We arrived and were working alongside a video crew, so we needed our blimp to dampen the sound. The lighting was tungsten, and we played with the background to find just the right setting.

Assignment:

Many of the subjects were fearful that they were going to get a shot, and were tentative about coming into our room. Throughout we tried and finally found the right background, as shown with the subject wearing black.

Post-Production:

For many subjects, we will have to remove corporate logos or other distracting items so that the focus remains on the dispensing of the product to happy subjects.

Final Analysis:

Assignment ConstructAssignment Construct We needed to document real people getting real medication, so we could not cast this, and were at the will of the people coming through the door, which I wish was not the case, but I wasn’t in charge of that part of the assignment.
