Breaking Ground

Monday, November 13, 2006 Concept/Objective:

We were called on to document the monumental groundbreaking of the MLK Memorial. From backstage to the stage with Presidents, to the actual turning of earth.

Pre-Production:

We brought on two additional photographers to cover all the angles. Site visits beforehand, and conference calls ensured we knew what was going on for this big event.

Assignment:

I assigned one photographer to the ground-breaking area, one to the main stage, and I was positioned backstage in the green room. The green room was a whos-who of Americana, transcending politics and celebrity. The responsibilities of the stage, once the event started fell to me.

Post-Production:

Following the event, we had to file dozens of images to the client, and deliver multiple CD’s by the next morning, requiring significant late-hours overtime.

Final Analysis:

I was very excited to be the key person to handle the coverage of this memorial’s groundbreaking. It was nice to be running full out strategically and tactically, ensuring that the client’s needs were met – and exceeded.

When insuring taxis, the most important thing is to understand which type of insurance that is needed since there are two types of taxi insurance.
