Bill and the Police
Wednesday, October 18, 2006 Concept/Objective:
The assignment was to cover the backstage and on-stage activities surrounding the former President’s being honored with an award.
-----
Pre-Production:Having done a number of presidential events In the past, knowing how to work with the Secret Service as well as where the award would be presented meant doing some extra work to be prepared.
Assignment:
When the President arrived, he was greated by the head of the organization. He met privately with the board, before heading onstage for the ceremonies. Capturing the formal presentation of the colors, normally not such a big deal, was so here. Then, prepositioning for the awards presentation.
With the rest of the press corps here, we did a normal delivery of the images on CD, since there was no need for an immediate turnaround.
Final Analysis:
This former President never ceases to amaze me. Love him or hate him, he’s an icon of this generation, polarizing yes, but still fascinating to observe.
